Today we were highly privileged to have with us Francisco Bisbal, just retired Lieutenant General of the Spanish Marine Infantry. He is the highest rank in this position and the only Lieutenant General in the 487 years of history of the Marine Infantry. Lieutenant General Bisbal shared his insights with us about the geo-strategic situation of ongoing conflicts (Ukraine, Gaza, Middle East), the current state of Spain’s armed forces, and the response capacity in the event of an escalation of a military conflict.
It is been a compelling and a very rich conversation. Mr. Bisbal is a distinguished Lieutenant General in the Marine Infantry recognized for his leadership in key international missions (Irak, Haiti, Bosnia). His career is marked by top academic honors, strategic NATO roles, and prestigious awards such as the U.S. Bronze Star Medal, the San Hermenegildo Gran Cruz or the Marine Gran Cruz.
We learned a lot and we were very lucky to count on Lieutenant’s personal point of view on top topics you will never listen to in public press. Our time today went too fast. The atmosphere once again was amazing.
You can read more about Francisco Bisbal here.
Thank you, Lieutenant General and also José Ignacio López, Hoya and Club member who made it possible.
